New Prague High School’s volleyball team had a mixed week as the Trojans lost to Holy Angels, defeated Bloomington Jefferson and won the Farmington Tournament.
The Trojan spikers faced Jordan Tuesday evening, Sept. 19. New Prague is also hosting Chaska Wednesday, Sept. 20, at 7 p.m., and Kasson-Mantorville Tuesday, Sept. 26, at 7 p.m.
Farmington Tournament New Prague swept through the Saturday, Sept. 16, tourney. The Trojans began by overpowering Mahtomedi, 25-9, 25- 12. New Prague then took on Class AAAA team, Roseville, winning in three games, 25-10, 28-26 and 15-13. The Trojans defeated Rosemount in two games, 25-21, 25-16, and beat ninth-ranked Delano (Class AAA) in three games 25-22, 22- 25 and 15-10.
The unofficial statistics for the tournament are sophomore Kyla Klein had 32 kills, 3 blocks, 11 digs; senior Avery Klein had 36 kills, 4 assists, 5 blocks, 36 digs; sophomore Lexi Ashley had 3 kills, 2 blocks; sophomore Kira Brundage had 9 aces, 57 digs, 8 assists; senior Annalise Wilson had 3 aces, 9 kills, 3 blocks, 95 assists, 20 digs; senior Maryn Anderson had 14 digs; senior Avery Terning had 10 kills, 7 blocks; junior Katie Boulanger had 10 kills, 7 digs, 3 blocks; junior Emerson Dillon had 27 kills, 7 aces, 32 digs; junior Brie Malecha had 6 aces, 2 digs and junior Erin Busch had 11 assists.
Bloomington Jefferson In an away match, New Prague beat Bloomington Jefferson in three games, 25-14, 25-17, 25-10, Thursday, Sept. 14.
