New Prague girls’ lacrosse goes 1-1 at sections

New Prague’s girls’ lacrosse team went 1-1 at the Class 1A, Section 1 playoffs. The Trojans won their first game Tuesday, May 28, 16-5, hosting Rochester John Marshal/Lourdes. New Prague then lost, 19- 13, to Southwest Christian, Wednesday, May 29.

“It went really well. The girls played extremely well,” said New Prague head coach Drew Danner.

The Trojans’ Payton Pumper led her team with five goals. She was followed by Anna Millard with three and Sophie Baker with two. Aftyn Anderson, Lilly Wieland and Ellie Schmidt each scored one goal apiece.

“We had a lot of great individual players,” said Danner.
