At the end of the Bullhead Days celebration Sunday, June 9 the ring binder which has everything you need to know about the event will be handed to another chairman.
Long-time Bullhead Days chairman Del Point will be retiring from this position.
He and his wife Gail have been involved with the annual festival for more than 20 years and the Waterville Chamber of Commerce recognized them for their effort by naming them the Bullhead Days Grand Marshals.
“We are honored to be chosen,” Del Point said. “We never got involved in this to be honored. It is a good feeling. It feels nice that they are honoring Gail and I. My wife does a lot behind the scenes and she puts up with me!”
More than 15 years ago Del went to a Bullhead Days meeting and he said the next thing he knew he was on the committee. Shortly thereafter he took over the reigns of the chairman of the festival.
The Points have been married for 41 years and have been full-time residents of Waterville since 2004. They purchased a cabin in 1997 and during the next few years they added a house on to the cabin on the east side of Lake Tetonka.
Gail grew up in Matawan and Del in Buffalo and they lived in Owatonna before moving to Waterville.
